The second edition of our Estate Visit Series explores Moonracer Estate
2015 was a milestone moment for us at Realm as we purchased the Hartwell property on Wappo Hill in the Stags Leap District. Since we first became stewards of this land, we have replanted eight acres of vines, with another two due to be planted in Spring 2025. And we have added new caves and tank space. Despite this we still think of this place as a work in progress...or rather a long game of Tetris with many levels remaining! Realm active members will see firsthand the progress over the past several years while also getting a glimpse into future phases of development.
We talk a lot about the paradox of Realm. The tension that can be found between richness and freshness in our wines. That duality extends to the art and science of winegrowing as well. For guests who visit us during this series, we plan to highlight a few contrasting elements of the Realm approach. We will discuss some of the latest science in the vineyard, which you will see firsthand. We will also consider artistic interpretation - in the wines, labels, caves and buildings. The Moonracer label provides the perfect backdrop for an exploration of art and science - the synergies and the conflicts...and the magic that results from blending the two together.
To make the most of your visit, we encourage you to wear comfortable walking shoes to explore the various spaces at Moonracer Estate including new vineyard plantings, our winemaking facility and caves painted by Bay Area-based muralist Victor Reyes and tattoo-artist Taki Kitamura. We will conclude the Estate Visit with a tasting of our wines that capture the spirit of art and science at Moonracer Estate. It is our hope that you walk away with a greater sense of our approach to this unique tension in winemaking, and how it creates something special in each bottle. Limited availability. Open to active members with a purchasing history. Expect each Estate Visit to last approximately 90 minutes. For members who have reached their five-year anniversary milestone, we are pleased to offer them and their group of up to three guests complimentary attendance (for a total of four guests, counting the member). Members are limited to one visit per seasonal Estate Visit series to allow other members the opportunity to visit. Please note we cannot accommodate guests under 21 years of age, outside food, or non-service pets due to permit requirements.
Reservation changes requested within 48 hours of your appointment may not be accommodated. If you need to cancel your reservation, please inform us at least 48 hours in advance. Cancellations made within 48 hours of your scheduled experience will result in a full charge. If you cancel a complimentary visit within 48 hours, you may book a future reservation 90 days after cancellation. In consideration of our other scheduled guests, we cannot accommodate visits for parties that arrive more than 30 minutes late to their appointment.
